Givenchy is at an inflection point appropriate now, and I assume the brand knows it. For a couple years, the brand could do no incorrect–it had legions of adoring celebrity fans who had been wearing its clothing and carrying its bags at every single turn, generally in front of paparazzi cameras. Riccardo Tisci was amongst the really initial higher-finish designers to recognize how to take his collection in the emerging streetwear path, and his foresight paid dividends. There usually has to be a subsequent factor in style, even though, and appropriate now, Givenchy is attempting to figure out what that will be.
For Spring-Summer season 2017 bags, that translates into a slightly uneven mixture of familiar bags in new colour combinations–some of which flatly do not operate–and new, oddly shaped bags that I am guessing are destined to be seasonal curiosities. The new strong-colour versions of bags like the Horizon and Antigona are great, even though, and the logo strap that seems on a couple styles is a strong nod to how luxury streetwear has progressed given that Givenchy initial aced it.
Take a appear at the complete lookbook beneath personally, I am currently hunting ahead toward Givenchy’s Pre-Fall 2017 bags, which uncover themselves on a far more strong footing.
