Exploration of the visual conventions of the American West has been a hallmark of inventive director Stuart Vevers’s tenure at Coach, and for Coach 1941’s Fall 2017 NYFW show, Vevers moved into prairie territory with physician bag shapes, conventional florals and leather in shades of tan and whiskey. Vlad was there yesterday afternoon to get a glimpse of all the bags the models have been toting down the runway, and we have all his images beneath.
For this collection, the bags’ traditionalism was much less tempered by postmodern eccentricity, and the final results have been a mainly classic mixture of totes, physician-style satchels in various sizes and tiny frame bags with kisslock closures. Several have been dotted with tiny, sparse prints that integrated dinosaurs and muscle automobiles, which supplied a balancing note of humor to the otherwise critical appears. Verify them all out beneath.
