According to Lyst, Fendi’s Iconic Baguette is the Top Revival Product of the Year

but fear not, Bottega Veneta’s The Pouch received a call out too

2019 could easily be dubbed the year of the comeback, with vintage inspired bags and full on revivals being the number one trend in the handbag market this year. This comes as no surprise considering as a whole fashion has looked to the past (particularly the 90s) as a source of inspiration. Trends like mom jeans, crop tops, neon and logos were all the rage this year. Brands like Gucci, Prada, Dior and Fendi have capitalized on this movement, choosing to focus their assortments on logo products as well as looking into their archives for inspiration.

The Lyst index releases quarterly reports that analyze the online shopping habits of shoppers around the world. The report looks at data from sales, Google searches and other important markers such as product and brand call outs on social media as well as worldwide engagement statistics. These quarterly reports are incredibly important in helping brands analyze not only trends but the shopping habits of consumers. While quarterly reports give an in depth look at a three-month period, Lyst also releases a more robust yearly report called the The Year in Fashion.

This year, Lyst analyzed data from over 100 million shoppers worldwide. These numbers included search queries, page views, and sales numbers spanning 12,000 online stores and six million products. Additionally global press coverage and social media call outs generated by the year’s biggest brands and trends were scrutinized.

Fendi received a few key call outs in the report, and most notably the iconic Fendi Baguette Bag was named the top revival product of the year with searches on the bag up by 138%. It seems there is no stopping the Fendi love, and Fendi‘s classic FF Zucca Logo print was named Logo of the Year, which is significant as logos are one of the top trends in fashion right now.

A few other bags were featured in the report as well, with Bottega Veneta’s the Pouch, the Jacquemus Le Chiquito Bag and Louis Vuitton’s Multi Pochette being listed among the World’s Most Wanted products. View the full report now on
